In honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, here is a small list of people who I am eternally thankful for.

To my mom

There aren’t enough words in this world to thank you for all that you’ve done for me. You have loved and cared for me for the past 22 years. You taught me to be strong, independent and to always practice empathy. Thank you mama for the ultimate gift of life and for all the sacrifices you have made for me and all the sacrifices you continue you do for others. Your words of encouragement push me to work hard every day and to never give up on my dreams.

To my hairstylist, my doctors & my estheticians

Thank you for making me look beautiful and for taking care of me on the days I need it the most. I will never forget all the life advice you all share with me and for simply listening. Thank you for being patient with me and for guiding me through everything, whether that be hair care, my skin, or my mental and physical health.

To my best friends and my sorority

A huge thank you to my sorority for helping me find my voice. Alexa and Dev, thank you for letting me help and guide you throughout your college and sorority experience. You both have inspired me in ways I cannot put into words. My best friends, thank you for having silly conversations with me. There are so many of you I want to thank so here are a few. Storm, thank you for all the advice, the memories, and for all that you do for me. Adriana, thank you for getting Taco Bell with me late at night and for always having my back. Thank you for being brutally honest with me. Thank you Taysia for being an honest friend and for being patient with me. Lastly, thank you Vanessa and Briana for constantly making me laugh and for making my world a million times better.

To all the women

Thank you for existing and for all that you do for other women, and for being a voice for the voiceless. Thank you for constantly standing up for what you believe in. From fighting for equality to lifting each other up, you do so much, and from the bottom of my heart: thank you. To all the pioneers who have paved our way and shaped our world, thank you.
